Live, fresh worship
This 80-minute worship experience aims to draw you step by step into oneness with Jesus, the Lamb of God. Originally, the recording was done at a live assembly September 19, 2004 in Santa Clara, California. It retains the freshness and beauty of the Spirit’s anointing of that night of Forever Worship, Jesus in his Sacrament, a unique monthly gathering to flow in sung adoration before the Eucharist.
You will find a range between majestic worship in new interpretations of several known refrains, such as I Give Praises to Your Name to the delicate sensitivity of Breathe. There is a mystery of passing behind the veil of the visible and revealing an intimacy with God that can be startling, even disconcerting at first, yet drawing one to new spiritual depths.
Inspired canticles
St. Paul exhorted early Christians to sing “psalms, songs and inspired canticles” (Col 3:16). He had in mind three distinct categories that were vehicles of sung worship. The Lamb is your Groom, We Live for You, Barren No More, Peace I Give to You and other segments represent the category of “inspired canticles” or “song of the Lord,” and were never heard or rehearsed before the date of that assembly.
8th Day Worship Ministry believes that the voice of the Spirit speaks most profoundly when we yield free reign – instruments and voices – to that inspiration. He can lead us anywhere, and that, if authentic, makes this worship prophetic in nature. We believe that the Spirit comes to the aid of our own inadequacies, prays through us, speaks to us, works in us and leads us to face new issues. The worship often has a kind of glorious “swirl” to it, drawing the participant in and placing him or her just in the spiritual “place” to allow the Spirit’s work to happen. The voice of the Spirit and the Lamb
Forever Worship did not have any agenda or order that night (as is custom not to), except for the first and last songs. But one theme came strongly to the fore: the Lord desires intimacy with His people. He spoke about the redemption of the world taking place through the Holy and Worthy Lamb of God, in order that God could be one with His creatures as a Bridegroom is with the Bride. You will hear that longing on His heart as you are invited you to that union.
Our prayer for you is that you, too will be drawn into the glorious swirl of worship and that the once barren places of your life, the Church and the Earth will be fertile, sown and produce new fruitfulness. |
